When the Foundation arrived, there were very few of us, and there was a great deal of curiosity. They held a meeting with the community and my expectation was to discuss tourism — and the Foundation appeared as an opportunity. I had always seen the potential that tourism holds in Acambuco, but nothing had been done about it, and the Foundation's arrival was pivotal. I had the idea, but I did not know how to proceed, and they prepared us, they trained us. It felt like someone extending a hand and saying: 'I will help you'.
